myhomeinporto is not a hotel, but a guesthouse with 3 beautiful bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Juan lives in the house in a private apartment, and he use to be around everyday. It’s a quiet spot so parties are not allowed unless the entire house is rented.
BREAKFASTS. Every day from 09:00 breakfast is served in the dining room or in the garden. If you need to have it earlier we can serve it from 08:00 on if needed, but there are several things that we prepare every day and need some time to be done, so earlier breakfasts are not possible.
Breakfast changes every day, but we use to serve yogurt with fresh fruit, butter and home-made jams, fresh squeezed juices, milk, home-made cakes, fresh breads and/or toasts and some savory products (eggs, cheese, ham, tomato, salmon, …). If you have any special request, or any allergy, please let us know so we can adapt your breakfast to your needs.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE. Every day before 16:00 we will access your bedroom for a basic housekeeping. This service doesn’t include change of linen or towels. A deeper clean with change of linen and towels is included in the price for stays longer than 7 days. If you need additional cleaning services please let us know. Also if you need towels to be changed, you can leave them on the floor.
INTERNET WIFI ACCESS. There’s a good Internet access in all the house and garden. We will provide you the access code upon arrival.
DOGS. You can bring your dog with you if small and well behavior. There will be an extra 150,00 € security deposit to be paid upon arrival that will be returned at the end of your stay after checking there has not been any damage. Please notice not many places in Porto allow dogs to come in, and dogs must have their lash on in most of the beaches around.
SMOKING. If you are a smoker you should smoke in the garden, as smoking is not allowed inside the house.
TELEVISION AND MUSIC. There is no television at myhomeinporto; and we don’t have any background music in the house, but Juan loves it and there is a record player in the library so some days we play music while sunset or during dinner with guests or friends. We ask guests to take in consideration there are other guests staying in the house and in case they would like to play music on their bedrooms not to play it loud so it is not uncomfortable for others.
PAYMENT AND BOOKING PROCESS. Once we receive your booking request we will answer within 24 hours: we will send you a pre-reservation with instructions to confirm it. In order to confirm your booking, we require a deposit. Please note that the booking is not confirmed until this deposit is received and until you receive the booking confirmation from firstname.lastname@example.org. We keep pre-reservations within 48 hours.
If you have to cancel your booking after having paid the deposit, please try to do it as soon as possible. This is our cancellation policy:
• if you cancel more than 30 days before your arrival date we will send you back the deposit (€30.00 administration fee will be charged)
• if you cancel between 29 and 15 days before your arrival date we will send you back 50% the deposit (€30.00 administration fee will be charged)
• if you cancel less than 15 days before your arrival date you will not be reimbursed
The remaining balance should be paid upon arrival by cash.
CHANGE OF DATES. Please send us an e-mail to email@example.com if you want to change the dates of your reservation. We only accept changes received via e-mail. We cannot accept changes made by telephone.
Any change in dates depends on the availability. For changes made up to 30 days before the arrival, we’ll keep the previous deposit done to confirm the new dates. Changes made from 30 to 15 days before the arrival date will have a charge of 50% the deposit done to confirm the previous booking. Changes made less than 15 days before the arrival date will lose the deposit paid.
ARRIVAL. We need to know your arrival time at least 2 days in advance. There is no check-in or check-out time, but the bedrooms will be ready for you to check in from 14:00, and you should leave it before 12:00 on the check-out date. We are fairly flexible about this, and if you want to check in before 14:00 or check out after 12:00 depending on your travel schedule, we will do our best to accommodate you. We don’t accept arrivals from 01:00 to 07:00.
NUMBER AND IDENTITY OF THE GUESTS. Only those guests included in the reservation will have the right to use the room. We need to verify all identity cards or passports of all the guests staying in the house. The person who made the booking or the one on which name the booking is will be responsible for the bedroom during the dates booked. The presence of an adult (18 years minimum) is mandatory during the rented period. In case you’d like your friends to visit the house while your stay, please ask Juan, as the house is open only for guests or for other people booking a seat for dinner when we organize them.
KEYS. You’ll receive a copy of the house key and your bedroom key. Please take good care of it while your stay and don’t forget to give them back to us upon check-out!
CARE OF THE HOUSE AND RESPONSIBILITIES. You are expected to treat the house and all of its equipment with care. Any specific rules and regulations for the house must be respected at all times. If any damage is done to the house or room or its equipment you must inform us immediately so that repairs can be carried out as soon as possible. Guests are not allowed to lend or sublet the room to anyone. You are also expected to show consideration and respect towards other guests. As none of the rooms is completely soundproof –everyone expects a low level of noise from neighbors– please be considerate of noise, particularly in the evening and at night. Any kind of parties, high music or noises that could bother other guests should be avoided.
The person responsible for the booking is expected to ensure that his/her companion/s will behave in a suitable manner. If that person or his/her companion/s do not behave in a suitably responsible manner, myhomeinporto reserves the right to evict the guest and his/her companion/s from the house; thereby forfeiting the guest’s right to any compensation or claim.
Neither myhomeinporto nor Juan de Mayoralgo shall be made liable for any direct or indirect damages that may occur during the guest’s stay-period at the accommodation, including (but not exclusive to): personal injury or damage to possessions, losses caused by fire, theft or criminal behavior. We are not either responsible for any problems related to the supply of services such as electricity, gas or water, but please let us know as soon as possible if any this occurs while we are not in the house so a swift solution may be found.
If any of the rules indicated above are not met, myhomeinporto reserves the right to evict the guest and his/her companion/s from the accommodation; thereby forfeiting the guest’s right to any compensation.
Booking a bedroom at myhomeinporto means that you accept and respect these conditions. We thank you for your cooperation on these issues and hope you’ll understand that these rules are necessary. We encourage you to respect your neighbors’ rest.
